Our Heart for the Youth

We’re Herb and Ana — husband and wife, parents of six, and long-time servants of the Tāmaki community.

Our journey hasn’t been perfect, but it’s been real, faith-filled, and deeply anchored in a call to make sure young people are seen, heard, and supported.

In 2023, we felt a conviction to stand in the gap for rangatahi slipping through the cracks. We started Remain Youth with nothing but a hall, a borrowed speaker, and a handful of young people who needed somewhere safe to land.

In 2023, we felt a conviction to stand in the gap for rangatahi slipping through the cracks. We started Remain Youth with nothing but a hall, a borrowed speaker, and a handful of young people who needed somewhere safe to land.

Today, we have connected with over 350 rangatahi, linking 20 local schools and sports clubs to build a space where young people can remain grounded, remain connected, and remain hopeful.

Respect Is How We Move

Respect Is How We Move

At Remain Youth, Safe Space is built on one foundation: RESPECT. It’s more than a rule, it’s a way we carry ourselves, care for each other, and protect the environment we’re blessed to use.

Everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and safe. We use words that build, celebrate our peers, and accept differences without judgement, creating a community where everyone thrives.

Honour the community by caring for the gear and facilities. Use equipment responsibly and leave the space better than you found it, ensuring it remains safe for everyone to enjoy.

Let us build, strengthen, and send together.

We stand on the shoulders of those who built the foundations before us — strong, steady, and faithful. Now it’s our turn to nurture, uplift, and propel our rangatahi into the futures they are called to serve.
